We’re a classy bunch here at Sputnik. Sometimes we even wear collared shirts to work. But things got really spiffy this month with an agency frolic down to the Arts Centre to see Victorian Opera’s, The Turning Of The Screw.
It’s all part of Sputnik’s ongoing relationship with Victorian Opera, where, in return for our online marketing solutions, we get treated to fantastic operatic performances by some of Australia’s best singing voices.
Part of our role is to help put younger bums on seats, a job made easier by Victoria Opera’s modern slant on opera and the lively performances they always put up on stage. Our latest piece of work is a print advertisement announcing our partnership and appearing in this month’s program.
This month’s show, The Turning Of The Screw, told the story of an English nanny being tormented by ghosts and slowly losing her mind in the process. It was a suspenseful whodunit, heightened in tension by the piercing vocals of lead performer, Melanie Adams and the angular notes of the string orchestra. Its blend of nursery rhyme lyrics and soaring solos kept everyone on edge and more than a few hairs standing on end.
Thanks Victorian Opera for another great night out. We look forward to your next show, Julius Caesar and to pushing our creative relationship even further in the year ahead.
